Carlos Gardel (11 December 1890 – 24 June 1935) was a singer, songwriter and actor, and is perhaps the most prominent figure in the history of tango. Muse
Muse are a British rock band formed in Teignmouth, Devon, United Kingdom in 1994 under the alias of Rocket Baby Dolls. The band comprises Matthew Bellamy (vocals, guitar and piano), Christopher Wolstenholme (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Dominic Howard (drums and percussion). Muse's style can be considered as a mixture of many musical genres, most notably alternative rock, classical music and electronica. Muse are known best for their energetic and visually dazzling live performances and on June 16th & 17th, 2007 became the first band to sell out the newly built Wembley Stadium in London. Muse have released four studio albums with their first, Showbiz, released in 1999, followed by Origin of Symmetry in 2001 and Absolution in 2003. The most recent, Black Holes & Revelations (2006), was also the most critically acclaimed, garnering the band a Mercury Prize nomination and a third place finish in the NME Albums of the Year list for 2006. Frankie Sullivan
Frank Michael Sullivan III (born 1 February 1955) is an American musician, singer and songwriter. Best known for being a founding member of the band Survivor, he has been the only permanent fixture in its lineup since the band's 1977 inception.Along with former bandmate, keyboardist and vocalist Jim Peterik, Sullivan co-wrote all of the group's hits, including "Eye of the Tiger" and "Burning Heart" from the Rocky III and IV movie soundtracks.
Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps
The Glassmen Drum and Bugle Corps is a Drum Corps International World Class (formerly Division I) drum and bugle corps based out of Toledo, Ohio that was founded in 1961. A member of Drum Corps International, it is one of three World Class corps in Ohio, along with the Bluecoats and Capital Regiment. The name "Glassmen" comes from Toledo's prominent glass industry, which has earned the city the nickname of "the Glass City." They have placed fifth three times at DCI World Championship Finals (1998, 1999, and 2001) and have made the prestigious Top 12 fifteen times, most recently in 2009. In 2006, the corps made its first European tour, visiting France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and England.
The current director is Brian Hickman, and the corps song is "Madre de la Tierra." Previously, the director was Dan Acheson, who left the corps to become the Executive Director of Drum Corps International in 1995.
