Eduards Rosenstrauch was born in Riga on August 13, 1918. There were three children in the family. The father worked as a postman, he died at the age of fifty, when the children were still small. All three children had learned to play various instruments. Eduard played even several instruments, but he especially liked the accordion. He also had a good voice, a tenor.Rozenštrauhs received his education at the 38th primary school in Riga and the 2nd gymnasium in Riga, until 1940 he studied at the Latvian Conservatory.
